What makes it special

In theory this is a multi cuisine restaurant but, in fact, several generations of Kochi diners have been coming here since 1963 for the Kerala cuisine.

As the primary restaurant at the venerable Grand Hotel on MG Road, this has become a Kochi institution.

It’s a huge restaurant seating 160 people but most days, the tables are turned over at least once so it’s not uncommon for the kitchen to handle 400 diners at each service.

The Grand Pavilion copes magnificently with the numbers. The food is consistent (the Allepey Fish Curry is legendary) and service is warmly efficient.
