It’s only been about three years but this family-run seafood restaurant has taken Kochi by storm, adding two branches and eying expansion into other parts of Kerala
No money has been spent on lavish decor or fancy menus: you order from a blackboard that lists the day’s specials which depend on what fish was available that morning.
The owner Jajina Rajan is from North Kerala but her husband Vinoo Vijayan’s family are hoteliers from Allepey. So the food takes in all of Kerala’s regions though its most distinctive feature is the high quality of the fish. The recipes are family-style and the freshly ground masalas ensure that each dish has its own memorable flavours .One curry,the Tirutha Fish Curry is so special that Jajina makes it at home everyday and sends it to the restaurants. And Vinoo buys the fish himself every morning
