The name may be misleading because this elegant restaurant at the Green Park hotel does not serve historical food and nor is the cuisine the stuff of fairy tales.
Chef Vignesh Ramachandran worked at Delhi’s hugely influential Indian Accent and you can tell from his food that he paid close attention to what was going on in the kitchen. This is modern Indian food with earthy flavours and skilful use of modern techniques ( such as the slow-cooked egg).
Chef Vignesh has resisted the temptation to stick too closely to South Indian cuisines in an attempt to distinguish himself from his Alma Mater and he takes chances with his menu which wanders all over the country from Bengal to the food of the North Indian street
