What makes it special

When the original Swati opened over 50 years ago in a small space opposite Bhatia hospital, there was not enough room for guests to eat in the restaurant. So people ate the superlative food – Gujarati-style hand-churned ice-cream, home-style ragda-patties and the best (and cleanest) pani-puri in town in their cars on the road outside the restaurant. Swati has now expanded those premises, opened branches and solidified its status as a city institution.
