Floyd Cardoz was the man who taught American foodies to love Indian food. Having worked for both the Taj and Oberoi groups, Floyd found great success in New York cooking French food before the well-known restaurateur Danny Meyer enlisted him for Tabla, New York’s first chic Indian restaurant.
Having found success in America, Floyd returned to India to start two of Mumbai’s best restaurants, the Bombay Canteen and O Pedro.
We lost Floyd too soon to the Covid pandemic. But, his legacy lives on.
