Shri Bala is a very well-educated chef. Unfortunately, her education has nothing to do with cooking. She is a qualified chartered accountant and law graduate. As a chef, however, she is self-taught, learning recipes from her family and from masters. She is also a scholar of Sangam literature which gives her a unique insight into the development of Tamil Cuisine. For years, she has organized food festivals, done pop-ups and been a well-respected figure in the food world. But she has finally taken the last steps, opening her own restaurant and a delivery service in Chennai.
