Ritu Dalmia opened Mezza Luna, one of Delhi’s best and most original Italian restaurants, nearly three decades ago when the food scene was nascent. Mezza Luna was ahead of its time, as was Diva, which she opened many years later. But she stuck with Diva, turning it into a Delhi institution and launching the careers of many young chefs who worked with her.
Since then Ritu has opened many other restaurants, including two in Italy, and has become the go-to person for high-end catering. Despite her stupendous success, Ritu never rests. She works every single day, regularly getting behind the range herself.
